Making Choices Counseling strives to provide a safe atmosphere for exploration of new choices committed to your values and beliefs for future joyful living. Supporting individual acceptance of past choices encourages new opportunities for future spiritual, emotional, and mental growth. Stressful life events can generate personal suffering negatively affecting spiritual, physical, emotional and mental health. Addictions such as alcohol, drugs, and gambling create personal, family and societal concerns creating misunderstandings and building walls of isolation making asking for help difficult. Stressful life events and addictions do not have to control your life and dictate your future. Instead, allow them to inspire resilience for your future valued life path. Kit Johnson LADC, CDGC, LIMHP/CPC, graduated from University of Nebraska at Kearney in May of 2015 with Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Bellevue, University in November of 2009 with Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, and Central Community College at Grand Island NE in May of 2008 with Associate’s Degree in Human Services-Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Kit worked in Addictions field while studying for both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. In October of 2018 he completed requirements for issuance of Certified Disorder Gambler Counselor license. Additionally, Kit is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Kit is a Fully Trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapist (EMDR) used in treatment of PTSD and other trauma based related disorders. Kit’s therapeutic approach utilizes client-centered therapy involving client preferred health care providers providing spiritual and physical needs, delivering an integrated team-oriented therapy process of coping resources reducing stressful life events for future joyful living.
